Siriusbot is not just an image from the government’s laboratory, it actually will appear in the real shopping center. The futuristic experiment will be held on Ikebukuro PARCO from 18th to 25th of October.
Siriusbot is the latest robotic technology of Japan. It understands both Japanese and English. Shows where to find your search items in the whole shopping center, by displaying and announcing the updated information. Amazing features of Siriusbot is that it actually leads you to where you choose. In this experiment, only the 5th floor of the Ikebukuro PARCO Main Building will be the target area.
Developed by Nihon Unisys and 08works, with a support of Tokyo Metropolitan industrial Technology Research Institute, Siriusbot aims to be a huge support both the customer and the shop stuff. By using the latest RFID (Radio Frequency Identifier) technology, it can automatically update the database of each shop. Count the number of items remaining by reading the digital tag after the shops closed. The database can be used for an inventory and to inform the accurate number how many items remaining to the shop stuff.
If this experiment works well, you might be seeing several robots walking around the shopping center very soon.
